Bags and Bikes

The bikes - our main mode of transportation. We have matching Surly Long Haul Truckers. The only thing that has been changed is that mine a Terri Saddle. Otherwise we have kept all of the standard equipment and have been really happy.

The Panniers

We went with Lone Peak brand. They are made in the US and are rock solid. We got our rear Panniers for our Oregon trip and they look practically new. We decide to use front Panniers as well for this trip.

Ashley's (red) and BJ's (black) Panniers

You will notice that BJ's bags are larger then mine. BJ typically carries about 10 more pounds than me. This helps even out our speeds. You will also notice that the Panniers have a bunch of compartments. We like this because we can put tools and snacks in a pouch and not have to dig through an entire bag.

Lone Peak Panniers also aren't water proof. They are water resistant. We like this because when you put wet stuff in it allows the water to get out. We pack everything in ziplock bags to keep returning dry.

Here is the rest of our gear - I will outline some of the more unique/specific stuff on the trip.
