2 thumbs up and 1 middle finger (I don't think they were saying we are number one!)

Day one has gone pretty well.

The day was really nice in the early morning but it did get a bit warm ( mid 80's and humid) by the afternoon. We also had a head wind for part of the day. Compared to the weather recently we couldn't o asked for better.

Mistake 1

So this gravel road was part if our pinned tour. We ended up taking a detour wicked added about 8 mows to an already long ride.

So Friday night SE Mn has some really windy storms. We were happy to see then at the time because hey brought cooler weather. Unfortunately they also downed a bunch of trees. This picture is from the Root River Trail. We thoughts this was going to be the easy part of the day ...

The stats for the day
Milage 73 (hopefully the longest day)
Average speed 12.55 (Slow and steady wins the race)
Two people slowed and gave us the thumbs up
One person, in a huge truck increased speed as the passed and gave us the middle finger.
